Dr. Rooke is excited to meet your entire family, including the little ones! Dental and Medical offices can be very intimidating to children and Dr. Rooke believes it is important to start their positive experience while they are young. Unless there is evidence of problems or the child is complaining of pain, age 2–3 is the ideal time to start their visits. You are encouraged to bring your child in to observe your older family’s hygiene appointments, explore the office, and even take a ride in a chair with mom or dad. As soon as the child is comfortable, we will look at their teeth and provide them with the necessary care they require. If your child is apprehensive about the office and requires treatment, we work closely with a pediatric dentist that can be sure to provide them with the care they need.

Sealants

Sealants are used to help prevent tooth decay. Sealants are made of clear resin and are applied to the chewing surface area of the tooth. Some teeth tend to have depressions and grooves which are difficult for the child to clean. Sealants are used to fill these depressions to deter tooth decay. Application of the sealant is quick, painless, and can be effective for many years if your child practices good oral hygiene and avoids biting hard objects.
